Governmental Project

Lehmann Engineering, Inc. was asked to conduct an assessment of current conditions of existing 1900 era buildings built over time using wood, steel and masonry where multiple construction techniques were employed. The assessment revealed that the buildings would require significant modifications to meet building code and proposed spatial requirements. Recommendations to accommodate the proposed reuse of the buildings as a public facility included a combination of partial demolition and rehabilitation of the existing building structure.

Lehmann Engineering, Inc. also played an integral part in the programming process and the design of a modern Civic Center and Public Library that met the needs of the City of Pleasanton. This Civic Center and Public Library now includes over 20,000 square feet of space and is designed to host seminars, conventions, and educational programs. On the east side of the library is an outdoor Freedom Center, which contains a memorial honoring those who have paid the ultimate price serving our country. The City of Pleasanton now has a beautified downtown with a new functional facility.
